> *Gold-Forex Correlations Seen Admist Long Term Shift, Risk Tracking Still High

The following table includes the correlation between gold and the various times most popular currency pairs. A close value of + 1 indicates a strong positive between gold and the pair relationship, while a close value of-1 indicates a strong negative relationship. Values indicate changes in weekly by more than 30%.

Weekly comment: with the fear of the spread of Spanish debt markets return and the start of first-quarter results releases of correlations of companies, or major U.S. with the major currencies remained virtually unchanged from the previous week. Gold Tidal Trend Shift Possibly on Horizon

Gold fell apart for the second consecutive day and the metal is nearing early year pivots at 1600/10. As highlighted last week, price is testing a long term trendline that extends off of the 2008, 2010, and December 2011 lows. A break of such a well-defined trendline would signal a significant shift. Near term resistance is 1630/40/50.
